One of the unique aspects of EV Solution’s Groups approach is that we are able to quickly identify the potential to use an existing infrastructure. During a site visit to Quakers Court, Abingdon we were able to identify a currently underutilised connection (a legacy from an incompetent developer) which has the capability to serve 9 EV chargers for a small investment (around £4000). By adding load balancing technology, it will be possible to extend the number of installed chargers meaning the development does not have to commit to a full infrastructure upgrade until at least one-third of the 48 flats require EV charge points.
A residents meeting has been arranged to vote on the infrastructure upgrade in June 2022 and is expected to be agreed.
